HAKIM – Council of Muslim Physicians and Healthcare Professionals – is a professional and ethical platform at the intersection of medicine, society, and the Islamic perspective. Our goal is to provide objective analysis of medical issues, foster professional exchange, and offer guidance on complex topics in medical ethics.

As Muslims, we view the world from a holistic perspective that encompasses all areas of life. The ultimate goal of our actions is always the pursuit of the pleasure of Allah.
Especially as Muslim physicians, this gives rise to a special, twofold responsibility: In addition to a high level of medical expertise, our work equally requires a perspective and approach guided by Islamic values.

Guidance, Education, and Responsibility
HAKIM – Council of Muslim Physicians and Healthcare Professionals – is dedicated to fulfilling this responsibility. The council informs and advises Muslim physicians, patients, and non-Muslims alike on Islamic perspectives regarding medical-ethical issues.
The thematic spectrum is broad, ranging from everyday treatment methods to complex medical procedures such as in vitro fertilization or organ donation. Furthermore, HAKIM addresses fundamental questions concerning the physician-patient relationship, medical confidentiality, and aspects of the healthcare system from an Islamic perspective.
As an advisory body, HAKIM also considers it its duty to illuminate the role of Muslim physicians within society and to articulate their special responsibility.

Our Areas of Activity
Guidance & Counseling
The council informs and advises Muslim physicians, patients, and non-Muslims alike on Islamic perspectives regarding medical-ethical issues.
Education & Training
To meet these diverse challenges, HAKIM is active across multiple fields. These include regular seminars, lectures, and continuing education programs, as well as participation in intercultural patient care projects in cooperation with hospitals and medical practices.
Community & Awareness
Furthermore, HAKIM initiates and supports health awareness campaigns within the Muslim community, addressing topics such as mental health, fasting during Ramadan, and resuscitation.
The goal of this work is to bridge medical competence and Islamic values, and to strengthen physicians in their responsibility toward patients and society.
